When life wobbles, it helps to have a compass. The Connection Compass Orientation Series introduces a simple framework to help you re-orient through four reference points: Self, Nature, Community and Spirit.

When was the last time you felt truly connected?

  • Connected to yourself – noticing what you feel and need.
  • Connected to nature – feeling grounded and part of the wider rhythms of life.
  • Connected to others – sharing presence, warmth, and understanding.
  • Connected to something larger – a sense of meaning, perspective, or peace.

If those moments feel distant, or harder to find than they once were, you’re not alone.

Life has a way of pulling us away from what steadies us.

A simple way to re-orient when life feels off

The Connection Compass offers a simple way to re-orient when life feels off.

It points to four reference points that support steadiness in everyday life:

  • Self – Noticing what’s happening within you.
  • Nature – Reconnecting with the wider rhythms of life.
  • Community – Remembering we are not navigating alone.
  • Spirit – Reconnecting with meaning and purpose.

These are not steps to follow.

They are directions you can return to whenever life asks you to re-orient.

When life wobbles, the Connection Compass helps you find your way back.

The Orientation Series introduces this framework and show you how to begin using it in everyday life.

How the Compass becomes a lived experience

Notice

Connection often begins with a simple noticing. Noticing how you feel. Noticing the signals of stress or disconnection. Noticing moments of calm, clarity or ease. When we pause to notice, we begin to regain our bearings.

Experience

Connection isn’t something we think our way into. It’s something we experience. Through nature. Through relationships. Through moments of stillness or reflection. Small experiences of connection help restore steadiness.

Reflect

Reflection helps us understand what brings us back to connection. Over time we begin to recognise the practices, environments and relationships that help us feel grounded and aligned. This awareness becomes a personal compass we can return to whenever life wobbles.

You sometimes feel a little “off” but can’t quite explain why.
Life may be full and busy, yet something feels slightly unsettled or unclear.

You’re looking for a simple way to reconnect with what matters.
Not through complicated systems or self-improvement pressure, but through small moments of awareness and connection.

You value reflection and inner awareness.
You’re curious about your inner life and appreciate practices that help you notice patterns, feelings, and intuition.

You feel nourished by time in nature or meaningful relationships.
You already sense that connection – with yourself, others, nature, or something greater – plays an important role in wellbeing.

You want a steady reference point for navigating life’s inevitable wobbles.
A way to re-orient when things feel uncertain, overwhelming, or out of alignment.

The Connection Compass Orientation Series introduces a framework you can return to whenever life asks you to find your bearings again.

What people often notice

People don’t usually describe the Connection Compass as something that changes their life overnight.

Instead, they begin to notice something quieter.

Moments where they would normally spiral in worry, frustration, or overwhelm…
and instead, they pause.

They remember the compass.

Not as a set of instructions, but as something familiar to return to.

Sometimes it’s as simple as a small shift –
stepping outside, noticing something within, reaching out, or pausing long enough for perspective to return.

The situation itself may not have changed.

But their orientation has.

Over time, many people begin to notice that they recover from life’s inevitable wobbles more quickly.

They feel steadier.
More aware of what supports them.
More able to return to themselves when things feel unsettled.

The quiet feeling many describe is simply this: “I’ve got this. I know how to find my way back.”

Not because life suddenly becomes easy.

But because they trust their ability to re-orient.

Where the Connection Compass came from

The Connection Compass first appeared during a movement meditation many years ago, when founder, Cherie Pasion, had recently  become a mother.

In that quiet moment, four simple words arose: Self, Nature, Others and Baby – pointing to the types of connection that ground her most deeply in life.

That morning, Cherie sat down and drew the first version of the Compass at the kitchen table.

Over time, the framework evolved and expanded. “Others” became Community, and “Baby” became the deeper dimension of connection – Spirit.

What remained constant was the insight behind the Compass:

When life feels unsettled, we can regain our bearings by returning to the relationships that sustain us – with ourselves, with nature, with others, and with something larger than ourselves.

The Connection Compass grew from lived experience and reflection, and continues to evolve as people use it to navigate the inevitable wobbles of everyday life.

What people have experienced using the Connection Compass

"I started using the Connection Compass at a time when I felt completely overwhelmed in motherhood, and it truly shifted things for me. ‘Connect with Self’ helped me reconnect with who I am beyond being a mum.

From there, I began intentionally weaving those parts of myself back into everyday life with my son, especially my love for outdoors and adventure. This naturally led us to ‘Connect with Nature,’ and one morning we found ourselves exploring the botanical gardens together.

We both left feeling incredibly calm, nourished and deeply connected - not just to nature, but to each other. I’m so grateful for this framework and the way it gently guided me back to myself while strengthening my connection with my child."
